I had an instructor called Stephen everything was fine, I booked my test for November i let him know 2 months in advance the date and time and he booked me in but one day he randomly messaged me saying I can’t use his car for my test unless I changed the date he told me I’m not ready even though I’ve had over 60 hours in lessons he wanted 10 more hours out off me before letting me do my test with him, this caused me too have no choice but too look for another instructor with only 6 weeks till my test! Every lesson he made me do the same thing nothing new after around 2 months off being him and he also took a whole month off work and blamed me for not having enough hours with him, after telling me on my lessons I started as a rusted diamond and in his words he has polished me up and I’m doing very well, then all off a sudden I’m not ready, in my eyes he wanted more money out off me too stay and do more hours even though they weren’t needed, I can’t speak on the driving school as a whole because I’ve only had him but I would stay away from him Less

Although I had a good experience with the school itself, who were friendly and helpful, I could not say the same during my time having lessons under Paul L. While he had detailed explanations on different topics, he was very condescending, always boasting about his 1st time rate while comparing me to other "better" students, impatient while small mistakes were made, and would make snide remarks in an intimidating manner, such as "drivers like you are the reason I don't go in the middle lane of the roundabout" and would stand firm on those remarks at the end of the lesson. These kinds of things do not make a student feel confident on the road, and would definitely ruin what should be a fun experience of learning to drive. At one point he would also make me leave a junction while he put his hands over my eyes, which is not okay to demonstrate awareness (or lack thereof) on the road. Safe to say I did not continue lessons with him after the 10 lesson block was completed, and went on to another instructor who could not have been a more friendlier and kind instructor. It's unfortunate that I did not have a better experience with this driving school, as some others have had. Less

When I first contacted Alfie's they were really helpful and quickly booked me in for my first driving lesson with Simon. Simon has been a brilliant instructor - always happy to make lesson times work for me so I could fit them in around work and always on time. I was a really nervous driver and had picked up bad habits from an old instructor. Simon could tell straight away where I was going wrong and what I needed to work on. He pushed me every lesson to take on new roads and get out of my comfort zone, picking up on absolutely everything and making sure I corrected all the areas I was weaker on.
